Dr. Joshua Brochu obtained his Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in 2012 from the University of Alberta, with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Business. He then went on to study Cell Biology at the University of Alberta, prior to beginning Medical School at the University of Calgary. He graduated from the Cumming School of Medicine in 2016 (Class of the Narwhals) with his Doctor of Medicine and then completed his residency in 2018 at the University of Calgary, based out of the Central Teaching Centre at Sheldon M. Chumir Centre in downtown Calgary. In 2018, Dr. Brochu obtained his CCFP designation and began practicing at Braeside on 24th in 2019. Dr. Brochu also has an interest in dermatology, and regularly uses dermoscopy for the early detection of skin cancers.
Dr. Brochu is also involved in medical education. He is a clinical lecturer with the University of Calgary. He is involved in behavioral medicine and procedural skills training, and regularly facilitates the Family Medicine program’s patient-centered care lab and mental health lab for family medicine residents.
